ROMESUMMERCAMP 2008 3rd Edition. Pescosolido, Abruzzi National Park (located between Rome and Naples). Our location is approximately two hours from either city and easily accessible. The area is very well-connected by train, buses, and highways.
Our summer camp is becoming an institution. Each year more people come together at the foot of the Abruzzi Mountains to celebrate the beauty of life and nature and meet amazing people from all over the world.
Because of success of the past two years, we decided for this summer to extend the summer camp from two days to four. Wednesday and Thursday, we will stay in an organic farm in Pescosolido. (a five minute drive from the meadow or a 50 minute walk). On Friday we will move up to the meadow for the weekend. Participants are welcome to come for the whole event or just meet us in the meadow for the last two nights.
Thanks to the continued support of a local council, the event is completely free, including the array of activities we offer. Come enjoy a hike in our beautiful mountains, a refreshing outdoor yoga class, barrel racing, live music and more.
A few notes about the farm:
This organic farm has been abandoned for over forty years and we are gradually working to bring it back to life. Its beauty and charm make it a perfect setting for our camp. There is plenty of space for camping, as well as a compost toilet and camping shower available. We do not have a sewer so we ask that you please bring biodegradable products (shampoo, soap, dish detergent, toothpaste, etc). These products can be found in most major cities, as well as in Sora (however they may be more expensive here). Please be sure the labels are specifically marked as biodegradable. Thanks for sharing our respect for nature! We also have a wood-burning oven and a wood stove you are welcome to use for cooking.
There is plenty organic fruit (no need to peel!) including figs, prunes, beaches, pears available for everyone for free. You are also welcome to help yourself to all the wonderful herbs that grow wild around the farm.
